John Barney, RPL, CCM

State Coordinator

​John Barney is a 911 Director, educator, and host of The Director’s Dispatch podcast, where he shares real stories and leadership lessons from the world of emergency communications. With years of frontline and management experience, John is passionate about building strong teams, mentoring the next generation, and making sure no dispatcher faces crisis alone.

Kate Stoddard

Membership Coordinator

Kate has served in public safety since 1998 and currently leads the Los Alamos Emergency Communications Center. She’s a certified communications manager, NENA Vice-President for NM, and an award-winning leader committed to community service. Kate lives in White Rock with her husband and two daughters.

Robbie McCormick ENP, RPL

Northwest Regional Coordinator

​With 16 years in emergency communications, I’m driven to serve, support, and grow the BCEC team—all in, all the time. I lead through empowerment, development, and culture-building to create resilient, compassionate 911 professionals. My blueprint: Technology, Teamwork, Training; Continuity, Commitment, Competency; and Respect, Responsibility, and Return on Inspiration

Carly Hufffman

Northeast Regional Coordinator

Carly brings over 19 years of experience in public safety, serving in roles from dispatcher to training supervisor across multiple New Mexico agencies. She holds a Bachelor’s in Forensic Psychology and is a certified instructor with a passion for teaching and developing future 911 professionals. Carly has taught at CNM, the NM Law Enforcement Academy, and participated in statewide tactical training. Her specialties include crisis response, officer safety, legal liability, and emergency communications.
